The abolition of roaming between Russia and Belarus will be the first step towards the unification of the two countries

“Belarus and Russia have prepared a roadmap to abolish roaming in 2020. The roadmap is currently being approved and can be adopted by the end of the year” says the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) Igor Artemyev.

If the roadmap is approved, another year will be required for production work to cancel roaming between countries.

The only problem is that Russia, for its part, has completed the preliminary work, but Belarus has not yet completed it.

According to Artemyev, the parties should have time to prepare and make all decisions on the transition to the end of 2019, so that only operational work remains in 2020.

In the target scenario of the FAS, roaming should be canceled between all participants in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)

As you remember the EAEU includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.
